A new and more customisable in-cab computer terminal has been launched by TomTom for use with its Webfleet fleet management platform.

The PRO 8270 and 8275 units come with a mobile device management platform for administering the various apps and workflow scenarios used by the operator. TomTom says this gives users full control over both platform and devices, along with the ability to service the terminal remotely.

There is also a new API (application programming interface) for customising the way the terminal works. TomTom says applications such as vehicle checks, proof of delivery, question paths and barcode scanning can be integrated into Webfleet’s workflow, making life on the road easier for mobile workers and improving service quality for end customers.

The PRO 8 series is based on the TomTom Bridge technology, and is said to be the only device platform that is fully compatible with TomTom Webfleet straight out of the box.
