We were intrigued to receive an announcement from a company called TouchStar about a “new-generation mobility” application it had launched for the Android and Windows platform, aimed at drivers on deliveries of bulk fuel and gas or on van sales operations.

This TouchStar is not connected with the UK company of the same name, which produces mobile computing hardware. It is based in Tulsa, Oklahoma, and also has operations in Germany, but not in the UK.

Its flagship product, TransPac, has traditionally been delivered on ruggedised handheld devices, but by migrating to Android, the company sees it as helping more users to improve fleet and driver efficiency.

The SaaS (software as a service) application is said to be able to be integrated with fleet tracking, despatch, and planning applications. But for UK availability you would need to contact the company.
