Following the recent launch of Micronet Europe, a Yorkshire-based company selling cab-mounted and mobile computing hardware, entrepreneur Martin Port has extended his portfolio by investing in UK company R2C Online.

R2C provides hosted fleet management software with a difference, incorporating online links to participating commercial repair specialists as well as managing the user’s fleet in-house.

The accent is on compliance, service, maintenance, repair and accident management, and the latest version also puts emphasis on commercial efficiency and asset control.

Martin Port was the founder of telematics company Masternaut UK, which he headed for many years, but he left last year when it merged with Cybit.

He says his involvement with R2C is complementary to his activity with Micronet in Europe.

R2C Online has an eight-year history, and has been run in parallel with FDTEK, a Sheffield-based company also specialising in on-demand commercial vehicle compliance and maintenance management solutions.

It has an impressive customer base that includes Iveco, Scania, Renault, Isuzu, Hitachi, Lex, Ryder, Dixon’s Store Group and haulier Knights of Old.
